Katy Mitchell has fifteen years of experience specializing in leadership assessment and coaching, family business consulting, succession planning, and team development. She has expertise in transitioning leadership and ownership in closely-held businesses. She has worked in a variety of industries including professional service firms, manufacturing, agriculture, healthcare, technology and banking. She is passionate about helping business owners and leaders have a positive impact on those around them, ranging from hiring the right people to navigating transition productively.
Katy holds a Master’s of Counseling Psychology from the University of St. Thomas. She has completed a training program with the Coaches Training Institute, is a qualified administrator of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator Instrument, is certified in the California Psychological Inventory and the Leadership Circle Profile. She has also completed the Empowerment Institute Certification Program for Empowerment in Organizations. She has previously serve on the Board for TeamWomen and Minnesota Professionals for Psychology Applied to Work (MPPAW). Katy is based out of Minneapolis, MN.
Growing up in a small family business in South Dakota, she has a deep appreciation for the entrepreneurial spirit. Her dad is a master-level falconer who raised quail in the garage for his own falcons. Her parents grew this unique side project into a full-time business that thrived for over 20 years.
